Blackboard Collaborate has been re-designed in HTML5 for an improved user experience. Explore the tools Collaborate Ultra provides for both moderators and participants. View Collaborate's What's New page for more information about their latest release.
To schedule a Collaborate session, just create a new activity in Moodle. Select Collaborate Ultra from the list of activities and then click on "Add." Set the date and time you want the session to start and end. A session can last for the duration of your course or have no end date. Moderators can engage participants with polling activities and break out sessions for small group discussion. Sessions can be recorded and recordings can be deleted directly from Moodle. To give guest presenters access to your session, you'll need to select the option to "Allow Collaborate guest access" in the session settings. For more information, view Getting Started as a Participant
or Getting Started as a Moderator
Blackboard Collaborate is also available to all faculty, staff and administrators who do not use Moodle. A Collaborate portal can be arranged by contacting email@example.com.
The recommended browsers for Collaborate Ultra are Chrome
. You can also use Internet Explorer, but must have flash installed.
As a Moderator or Presenter, you can share a number of things with the participants in your sessions: an editable whiteboard, applications on your computer, PDFs, PowerPoint® presentations, images, and more.
